Figured Something Out

Something's been bugging me about ROAD, and I just figured it out. My main character is too damn reactive, and not active.

And, of course, I have no idea how to fix it.

So Loving Husband and I are going to sit down with a glass (or two) of wine and brainstorm.

Separately...

BAD NEWS: I may have to lose the song lyrics and references I use in HELL'S BELLES.

GOOD NEWS: My initial advance installment arrived today. Money, money, money!

BAD NEWS: Crap, I really have to finish my damn 2005 taxes.

GOOD NEWS: Er...where's that wine?

Reactive and not active enough: that's so me! ;o)
Reading my WIP I also realised I don't have enough action and too many inner thoughts and feelings. My hubby thinks it's something to do with being a woman's POV? I keep reminding myself to think cinematically.
Anyway, congrats on your progress!
Best,

Adriana

Re-active instead of pro-active. I don't see how you can change a reactive character into a proactive one without making plot changes, which is probably your dilemma.

Out of curiousity, what songs were you using?

*making notes for the eventual Jackie Kessler Trivial Pursuit edition*
