Got word the other day that my short story "Why Monsters Don't Do Group Therapy" has been accepted for publication in an upcoming issue of From the Asylum! Woot!
I wrote the story as an entry for a Backspace contest. I tweaked it, based on the feedback from the faboo Backspacers...and boom, publication! Yay! A huge thanks to Patti Hunt for the contest parameters and to Heather Brewer for suggesting I write a story with a vampire in it. :-)
My writing group, meanwhile, has decided that June will be our unofficial NaNo Training Month. 50,000 words in June, or bust! Given that I want to finish the first draft of ROAD at the end of June, that works out well. I'm in! Wish me luck...

Woohooo! (on all counts)
You blow my mind, girly!
Hey, it's easy to SAY I'm going to write 50,000 words in one month. The whole DOING thing? Not so much...
Hey, Love. I'm not quite sure what "NaNo Training Month" is, but I hope it doesn't involve egg-shaped spaceships and bipedal aliens talking funny while doing strange things with their fingers....
Hee hee hee! I'll have to (ahem) show you all about NaNo, my Loving Husband... :-*
Sounds kinda kinky. ;)
You can do 50K in a month, Jax. I have faith in you.
Did you know that NaNo is a verb? Just ask Mork from Ork...
;-)
I thought that was "nanu" and...didn't it mean "goodbye"? ;)
(Gawd, I'm such a huge dork--I completely LOVED that show)
Note to self: work on the humor. ((sigh)) Back to coffee...
;-)
Just stumbled across your blog site and wow i am impressed already! I know i will be back...hopefully NOT at 130 am when i have to be up in 5 hours or so lol. Good luck on the nanowrimo training session.I just did one of those myself in february though i didnt think of it that way till you put it so well. I am brand new to the whole nano thing and didnt know much about it till then so i just jumped in on my own without the whole 'support group' part of it. Are you familiar with the Nanowrimo.org website? If so is that the official site of Nanowrimo? I have been trying to register on that site and for the life of me can not find a 'register' link. I see a 'user login' and a "forgot password" link, but no where to register. I am trying to participate in the forums but can't post without registering. Could you point a lost soul in the right direction if you get the chance. Warning: i am male and therefore not the greatest at following directions lol. That said, i would greatly appreciate it if you are familiar with that site if you could point me in the right direction. Like i said, great blog and Good luck on the training session though from the looks of it i would imagine it should be a walk in the park for you.
thanks,
